Description

G Plan Vintage set of 3 Nesting Coffee Tables from the popular Quadrille range .

The three separate tables in descending sizes simply slot underneath each other. They easily stow away so are both a practical and attractive addition to any room.

The ‘Quadrille’ name comes from the square frames which make the table legs (a quadrille being a square dance with four couples). However the inside of the solid teak frames are curved, giving them a simple but stylish elegance. The table tops are teak veneer on a hardwood base.

The Quadrille range was designed in the 1960s for popular furniture manufacturer G Plan. Modern and futuristic, the range had clean lines and a light elegance, inspired by the Danish designers of the time. The style still looks very contemporary today, and fits into both modern and retro-inspired interiors.

Size Approx of largest table:

H 49 cm

54 cm x 44 cm.

In used condition, the tables are structurally sound. There are some general signs of wear, some scratches, marks and dings to all of the tables. There has been a historic repair to the middle tables legs. You can see the glue where the joins are, so not the most aesthetically pleasing repair, but the table is stable and sturdy. Please see photos, these form part of the description.

For furniture connoisseurs,  G Plan is a household name. A rival to Ercol as a leading British 20th century brand – both founders Gomme and Ercolani were in fact close friends and professional peers – G Plan has produced some of the most recognisable furniture models over the last hundred years. Even if you do not know it yet, it is worth putting G Plan on your radar! An unchanging presence in many British households, G Plan blends very well with design across most eras. The timeless, simple contours of G Plan make it feasible for use in interiors both as statement design pieces and as stylish backdrop furniture to accentuate other leading features. The wood typically used in G Plan is teak, known for its rich depth of colour and practicality for everyday use.
