Scandinavian mid century modern “Planet” lounge chair designed by Sven Ivar Dysthe for Stokke.

The planet chair was designed by Sven var Dysthe in 1965. The chair is an established iconic Norwegian furniture Classic. The encompassing round shape provides a very pleasant and comfortable yet supportive sitting experience. True to its name, Planet lets you rotate 360 degrees and has a tilt function. This chair with its precise round shape, compliments most interiors. The chair was awarded the Award for Design Excellence. It follows the natural movements of the body, using an integrated tilting mechanism. Due to its flexibility, you will never sit in the same position for too long.

In used condition. The chair is structurally sound. The swivel and tilt/ rocking mechanism works well. There are signs of wear and use commensurate with the age, some marks, stains, pilling and wear to the upholstery. The base has an area of damage to the wood on one of the legs. Please see photos.
